The American Chemical Society is one of the largest scientific societies in the world with over 170,000 members. Founded in 1876, it is a leading publisher of authoritative scientific information.
ACS is made up of many smaller groups. Technical Divisions and Subdivisions focus on specific areas or interest groups within the larger chemistry community. Membership benefits include professional development and networking opportunities.
The NEASCS is the largest local section with over 6,000 members. The NEASCS holds monthly meetings, provides career workshops and networking opportunities, and promotes science outreach.
The criterion for being a member of this group is not age, but experience! Younger chemists are not yet established in their careers. This group sponsors many activities. Undergraduates, graduate students, recent graduates, and new(er) professionals are all welcome!
