About Women's History Month

This video from USA Today discusses the origins of Women's History Month and its purpose:

This website is a collaboration between the Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. It was established with the purpose of "commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history."

Celebrate Women's History Month 2024: Events, Activities, and More!

This organization highlights women's contributions to the city of Boston through private and self-guide tours of the city and its neighborhoods. Can't take a tour in-person? Don't worry, they also have a Virtual Tour of Boston's Women's Heritage Trail!

The City of Boston Parks Department celebrates this month by highlighting the contributions women have made to the city's parks system and the communities that have been built around them. This includes the many who have earned the honor of being the namesake for many of our local parks!
