In your proposal, you said how you planned to collect and analyze the data. Do what you said you would do. If you discover that your plans were flawed:
- Stop collecting or analyzing the data.
- Decide how to fix the flaw.
- Work with your professor or advisor to submit a revised proposal.
- Wait for that proposal to be approved.
- Start collecting and analyzing the data according to the new plan.
