Persistent Links from Library Resources

Instructions for creating persistent links from MCPHS Library resources

In MCPHS Smart Search

When you're in MCPHS Smart Search and find an article, book, or video you want to use, you can either grab a permalink to the item page in Smart Search, or you can go to the full-text article and get the permalink to that page.

Permalink to Item Page

  1. In your Smart Search results, click on the item title to get to the detailed record (item page).
  2. Click on the Share arrow in upper right corner of the record.
  3. Click on Create Link. Copy URL to clipboard - that's your permalink!

Permalink to Full Article

  1. In your Smart Search results, click on the Access Options or Full Text tab located at the bottom of the record.
  2. Verify there is a full text PDF link available (located in different areas of the page depending on the vendor).
  3. Use the URL from this page as your permalink! (Note that using a link to the actual article may be unstable).

Example Persistent Link in Smart Search

  1. In your Smart Search results, click on the item title: Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy Students' Perceptions of an Interprofessional Stroke Workshop: A Mixed Methods Analysis.
  2. Click on the Share Arrow (upper right corner of record).
  3. Click on Create Link. Copy URL into your clipboard: https://research.ebsco.com/linkprocessor/plink?id=0055b972-0595-330f-9d57-393e37b17df3 - that's a permalink!
  4. On the bottom of the record, click on the Access Options/ Full Text tab.
  5. In the window that opens, save the URL: https://eric.ed.gov/?id=EJ1460067  - that's a permalink!
