Active Learning for You: Reflecting on Teaching [INFOGRAPHIC]

A key component of active learning is reflection. When we design our courses, we encourage discussion, journals, reflective papers, and more to support our students exploration of new concepts as they relate to their own experiences and new information-all of this to internalize their learning. As a teacher you have experience as a student, but also experience with each new student. What can you do with this information? How does what you learn when teaching affect your life outside of your job? What can you glean that will improve your teaching? Mia MacMeekin's infographic, Reflective Practice: 27 Ways to Reflect on Your Teaching, describes fun exercises for integrating reflective practice in your teaching as a form of self-evaluation.
