What Is Adult Learning?

by Reena Lederman Gerard on 2017-10-30T01:00:00-04:00 in Educational Technology | 0 Comments

We talk about pedagogy when maybe we should be talking about andragogy too. The theory of andragogy, the art and science of adult learnin and the five assumptions was developed by Malcolm Knowles. According to Sharan Merriam, a top scholar in the field of adult learning, Knowles later suggested that andragogy and pedagogy exist on a continuum. Her article, Andragogy and Self-Directed Learning: Pillars of Adult Learning Theory, delves into the changes in adult learning and examines self-directed learning in light of this.
